11.58 tonnes of CO₂: that's how much emissions the astara team's vehicles avoided in just one Dakar week thanks to the use of e-fuel. "We are using e-fuel to provide more eco-friendly mobility in all environments – even in the most depopulated region in the world in Saudi Arabia, where electrification is not possible today," specified Marta Ríos, astara's Chief Brand Officer. The company has thus demonstrated and fulfilled with great success its commitment with the environment and the objective of promoting the right to free movement during one of the most demanding motorsport competitions in the world.
Thanks to the team's tireless efforts, perseverance and professionalism, it was possible to cross the finish line despite unforeseen obstacles. For example, the team demonstrated a tour de force in repairing the vehicle of Laia Sanz, which had suffered a serious rollover on the fifth stage, in record time. "We overcame all the obstacles and the team was fundamental in overcoming all these difficult moments. No one has lost their smile or their will to finish this Dakar," said Carlos Checa, rider of the astara team, praising the performance.
